An excellent opportunity for learning and growth at this trading firm, highly dependant on high-speed data communication and network computing for its electronic trading operation. The working environment is high energy and fast paced, with an opportunity to interface with all levels.




Responsibilities:
-Interact with IT support personnel to confirm system issues if any.
-Log into various proprietary systems, monitor computers and network.
-Update parameters for current day’s trading using in-house applications.
-Write scripts and modify existing ones as needed.
-Use strong Excel.
-Proactively monitor and verify all trading activity for a specific trading team.
-Continuously reconcile positions and confirm trading parameters.
-Communicate with exchange trade support in case of emergencies.
-Occasionally execute trading orders.
-Update various databases, e.g. financial events calendar, product specifications, etc.
-Manage compliance issues and ad hoc reporting for the team.




Qualifications:
-Previous coding experience (lua, Shell Scripting, C++, Java, etc.).
-Must be comfortable running Linux and Windows systems and working with spreadsheets and SQL databases.
-Shell scripting – ksh or bash
-Lua or Python
-SQL
-C++ or Java a big plus
-Understand trading basics, such as the meaning of bid/ask, long/short and what it means to hedge positions
-Detail-oriented, organized, and excellent documentation skills.
-Ability to multitask and prioritize multiple projects in a busy, demanding environment.
-Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
-Excel.
-Programming/Scripting highly desired
-Windows and Linux knowledge highly desired
